Welcome to Charlotte,
North Carolina!
Charlotte,
known as Queen City, reigns as the number one travel destination in North
Carolina and the fifth-largest urban region in the United States. Over
half of Charlotte's visitors are business people who recognize Charlotte
as the second-largest banking center in the country and home to hundreds
of Fortune 500 companies and foreign firms. NASCAR fans know Charlotte
for its proximity to Lowe's Motor Speedway, host of the Coca-Cola 600.
Pleasure-seekers enjoy the myriad of state-of-the-art attractions, such
as Discovery Place, that accompany a world-class city. Charlotte visitors
might be surprised that the city is so reputable in the business world,
because it manages to keep an identity entirely separate from its economy.
It remains an area with quiet neighborhoods, shady streets, and plenty
of Southern hospitality and friendliness. Its various parks host concerts,
picnics, and recreational activities. Charlotte hotels, motels, and bed
and breakfasts do their best to feel like a home away from home, so that
vacationers and business travelers are just a touch away from everything
they need.
Visiting Charlotte
Charlotte
experiences four uniquely beautiful seasons, but retains a relatively
moderate climate year-round. Spring, when colorful flowers burst into bloom
and adorn the city, is one of the most gorgeous times to visit. Cherry
and apple blossoms, azaleas, dogwood, and camellias are just a few annual
favorites. Summers, which tend bring hotter and more humid weather conditions,
boast the majority of the city's festivals and fairs. Charlotte's daily
temperatures range from 29 to 50 degrees in January, 46 to 72 degrees
in April, and 67 to 88 degrees in July.
